About the event
Imagine foster care that improves the outcomes and the experience for the child because their placement is created and sustained through a close partnership between the carers, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. This approach also increases the likelihood of successful and safe reunification. Is this a fantasy? Actually, it is not only possible it is already happening.
Join Professor Andrew Turnell and Swedish Social Worker and Foster Carer Anna Strömberg in a three-hour skill building, online workshop to hear examples of Belonging-focused Foster Care and learn about the professional processes and practices that support this approach.
This participatory workshop is part of the three-day online Global Gathering for the Future of Child Welfare, October 6 to 8, 2026.
