‘There is no house like the house of belonging’
David Whyte
Imagine foster care that improves the outcomes and the experience for the child because their placement is created and sustained through a close partnership between the carers, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. This approach also increases the likelihood of successful and safe reunification. Is this a fantasy? Actually, it is not only possible it is already happening.

Transforming Child Protection
Staking a claim for belonging as the heart and soul of what human beings require to flourish, directs our imaginations toward envisioning a children’s social care system transformed.
We are all born to belong, therefore everything we do in children services is in the service of belonging.
Our Purpose
The crisis of child protection is a crisis of vision. Lacking a grounded vision of how to meet the everyday complexities and anxieties of child protection, our systems and practice too easily becomes driven by defensiveness.
This website:
-
Seeks to transform children services culture, organisation and practice by imagining all children's services undertaken in the service of belonging
-
Offers practice, learning, and organisational methods as the foundation of whole system transformation
-
Seeks to inspire an international learning community of professionals who together can discover what a belonging focused child protection system can look like in the real world.
